Welcome to the Licencing Section:
 
The On-line Licencing System provides citizens with quick and convenient access to required licences.

Using this system, you can:
  • Apply and pay for a pet licence.
  • Renew and pay for a pet licence.
  • Add a new pet to an existing pet licence.
  • Request a replacement tag.
  • Change your address information.
  • Search for an existing pet licence.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
Once paid, pet licence fees are non-refundable:.
  • If you are renewing, and no longer have one or more of your pets, please call our office at 780-496-8860 to update your account before making your payment.
  • If you disagree with the amount owing on your account, please call our office at 780-496-8860 for clarification and/or adjustment before making your payment.
If you are applying for a new pet licence, you will need to turn off your Internet Browser pop-up blocker.
 
If you already have an existing pet licence you are paying for or making changes to, you will need your account number as shown on your renewal notice or the original licence confirmation.
 
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY FOR A PET LICENCE ON-LINE IF:
  1. You are applying for the reduced rate because you receive Income Assistance.
  2. Your dog is "restricted" as defined under the Bylaw. Click here for more information on Restricted Dogs.
  3. You are applying for a Guide/Assistance dog exemption.
If any of the above apply to you please come in person to the Animal Services facility at 12515 - 128 Street or the Customer Service counter on the 5th Floor, 10250 - 101 Street, or call 780-496-3100 to determine the documentation required.
 
If you indicate your pet has been spayed or neutered, you will be required to provide the following information:
  • The name of the veterinary clinic where the surgery was performed.
  • The date of the surgery.
If you indicate your pet has been adopted from the Edmonton Humane Society (ESPCA), you will be required to provide the following:
  • The birth date of the pet.
  • The adoption date.
  • The EHS identification number.
WARNING: Providing false information is an offense under Section 33 of the Animal Licencing and Control Bylaw 13145. A $100 fine may be charged.
 
This personal information is collected under the authority of Section 33 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (sa 2000). It will be used in the operation of the pet licence program, for bylaw enforcement purposes, and shared with outside organizations for the purpose of reuniting lost pets with owners.
